Alaska Railroad Soon Begins Service for the Aurora Winter Train

Alaska Railroad is proud to announce, starting on September 19 and continuing through mid-May 2021, the launch of its renowned winter passenger service aboard the Aurora Winter Train.

The Aurora Winter Train operates between Anchorage and Fairbanks on weekends, embarking on a 12-hour northbound journey on Saturdays and a return trip on Sundays (select mid-week departures will also become available in March of 2021).

Reduce the number of COVID-19 tests conducted at the airport in Hawaii County

Hawaii County tourism officials have reported a decrease in the number of COVID-19 tests being done after less than one percent returned positive. Hawaii County Mayor Harry Kim said 12,636 post-flight tests were conducted on the island last Monday, according to the Hawaii Tribune-Herald, and less than one percent were positive for coronavirus. Overall, 97 of the post-flight antigen tests administered returned positive, leading to additional tests of polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The more precise test showed that 17 travelers were positive for COVID-19. As a result, a post-flight antigen test will only be conducted on 25 percent of travelers arriving at Onizuka International Airport in Kona. With random testing considered unethical, officials from Hawaii County are working on how to pick travelers for testing. To build the Kempegowda Airport Metro link, BIAL and BMRCL

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) and Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) to take forward their joint efforts through a special Public Private Partnership (PPP) with a creative funding mode to set up the 4.95 km segment of the ORR-Airport Metro. This Metro connection to Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR), which is expected to be launched by December 2024, would provide residents and business commuters from all parts of the city with a sustainable and efficient mode of transport, making it easier for the city to realize its economic potential and to ease traffic congestion on the roads leading to the airport. BMRCL will build the Metro section of the airport, as well as undertake civil and electro-mechanical works and other relevant structures, works and properties.
