Palanga Airport (PLQ) has started plans for major reconstruction work scheduled for the autumn of 2021, with the reconstruction of the airport runway and other works to be carried out, including the expansion of the taxiway and other sections of the apron. The hunt for a contractor for these works will be revealed in September 2020 and, in the second quarter of 2021, the contract will be signed with the chosen partner. Reconstruction work is expected to begin in September 2021, during which time the airport will be closed for a total of 45 days for the shortest required duration.
